Yes, this quote might last year but still holds true to Scarlett. The subject is fighting against the pressure of being thin in Hollywood.

I try to stay fit and eat healthily, but I’m not anxious to starve myself and become unnaturally thin. I don’t find that look attractive on women and I don’t want to become part of that trend. It’s unhealthy and it puts too much pressure on women in general who are being fed this image of the ideal, which it is not.
I think America has become obsessed with dieting rather than focusing on eating well, exercising and living a healthy life. I also think that being ultra-thin is not sexy at all. Women shouldn’t be forced to conform to unrealistic and unhealthy body images that the media promote. I don’t need to be skinny to be sexy.

Scarlett Johansson, thin in Hollywood

Though Woody Allen is already in Spain, no news or whatseover when Scarlett will follow the director. It is not known if she is already recording her music album or busy with other projects.

According to France 24, Woody is up and ready to film his yet untitled work starring Scarlett in the Spanish city of Barcelona on July 9, production society Mediapro said Thursday.

Joining Johansson will be English actress Rebecca Hall as well as Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. Some scenes will be directed in the northern Spanish region of Asturias, where Allen spent Tuesday in the regional capital Oviedo seeking out sites to film in through to late August.

“The region of Asturias is magnificent. I always wanted to come to Spain to work and now I have the chance,” Spanish news media quoted Allen as saying.

The 71-year-old Academy Award-winning director is widely admired in Spain, and Oviedo itself boasts a lifesize bronze statue of him. Allen first visited the city to accept the Asturias prize for art in 2002.

The British teen magazine Bliss recently talked to Scarlett concerning L-O-V-E. Just like you and me she still dreams of being swept off her feet, that is, wishing to find true love and Mr. Right.

I find it somewhat ironic when she also confessed in the past that being monogamous is “challenging.”

“As an actress, it can be quite tough having a partner, because you’re always travelling from one city to another, which makes it hard to get to know someone and build a connection with them. But I’m not complaining. I get to meet lots of interesting guys and travel to so many great cities, which I love. One day, I’m going to surprise myself and fall completely head over heels for someone and be swept off my feet!”

Scarlett has previously linked to Jared Leto and Josh Hartnett. She is now rumoured to be dating Ryan Reynolds, Alanis Morissette’s ex-fiance.

It seems that Scarlett, having voted the sexiest star in several magazines, is used to be insecure about her physical apperance. Of what looks like a continuation of a former interview she gave about men and liking them, she reportedly admitted that she was dissatisfied with what she had when she was a teenager.

“I always had a lot of doubtful feelings about my looks as a teenager. I had this deep voice and big lips and some people would make fun of me and I felt awkward a lot of the time. When I was a teenager I always felt too fat, too short and that my face was too wide. I was really insecure about my appearance.”

Imagine that? And now her lips and Angelina Jolie’s are the envy of the Tinseltown. Their pouty big lips are the blueprint of every woman who wants to change the appearance of their mouth.

It goes to show that not humans, celebrity or not, aren’t satisfied with what they have.

It is recently revealed that former US Vice President Al Gore asked the support of Scarlett during the actress’ 10-day visit to the affected areas of 2004 Asian tsunami, sponsored by Oxfam this year. The politician turned environmental activist has been fervent on making the awareness as pop culture as possible.

How does Al Gore get you to become involved with Live Earth? He tracks down your cell phone number and leaves you messages. In a move that might otherwise be interpreted as “creepy”, Al Gore urged Scarlett Johansson to get involved with the concert series while she was on a 10-day charity visit to Africa with Oxfam. According to reports, Gore left a voice mail detailing the campaign and inviting the actress to join in the fun this July and contact him. It is somewhat dry in the Scarlett-land today. Aside from film assignments she is undertaking, there’s her venture/target to enter the music biz. Apart from her rendition of “Summertime” and her so-so Coachella performance, will she up for it?

One of my fave scenes from the movie “Lost in Translation,” Scarlett singing Pretenders’ “Brass in Pocket,” as Billy Murray’s character looked at her.

According to UK’s Times, our all-time favourite board game Monopoly will be a movie. That’s thanks to Sir Ridley Scott who would like to jump “on board to turn Monopoly–the world’s best-selling game–into an improbable feature-length movie.”

Remember the amazing sound and effects of “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down”? He might give something of that sheen to his intended movie version.

One of the actors who is considered to be in the movie is none other than Scarlett.

Scarlett Johansson, 22, who has already made several films in Britain, once joked that she explored London through the British version of Monopoly. She is said to find the prospect of a film version “funny, wacky, but interesting”.

Aside from Scarlett, the will be touted “racy comedy thriller” will include Kirsten Dunst. Hasbro, the maker of Monopoly, “wants the film to feature ’sexy young people’ in an attempt to win over teenagers who regard board games as a last resort on a wet afternoon.”

A Hasbro consultant said:

“Hasbro already has cool games like Ouija, which could be a supernatural movie, but we think of Monopoly with Ridley Scott as director or producer, as a massive global hit. Everyone has played Monopoly in one version or another so, hopefully, they would be curious about how it translates to the screen.”

Also, internet mentions on Google press clips compiled by LexisNexis; TV/radio mentions by Factiva; and number of times a celebrity’s face appeared on the cover of 32 major consumer magazines.

According to Forbes, the actress is worth $5 million, from a pay rank of 95, web rank–22, press rank–36, TV/Radio Rank-67.

The sultry star appeared in three films last year: The Prestige, Black Dahlia and Woody Allen’s Scoop. But Johansson is earning more from her looks than her acting these days, thanks to endorsement deals with L’Oréal, Reebok and Louis Vuitton. Look for her in this fall’s The Nanny Diaries.

There was a time when Scarlett was rumoured to be seducing actor and one-time singer and model Mark Wahlberg a few months ago. This was after pictures of the two landed on the gossip magazines/sites revealing their Friday “private lunch” Mark had prepared at his mansion in Beverly Hills. If his partner, the model/actress Rhea Durham, knew it took place, one never knew. The two almost broke apart after Mark had a sizzling affair with Jessica Alba.

Neverthless, it didn’t exactly earn Scarlett’s plus points from the press that kept on chastising her actions. She and the young British actress Sienna Miller were branded then as men stealer. While Sienna kept on hanging out with the new father P Diddy, aka Puff Daddy.

Fans at Youtube.com unearthed a paparazzi video of the private lunch. No one could hear what the actors were talking about and no one knew what was it all about. Scarlett said the meeting was purely business. This happened after the actress had split up with Josh Hartnett. But it looks like nothing came out of that as Mark is still very well attached with Rhea and their two children. And Scarlett is rumoured to have seeing Ryan.

Typically Spanish reported that Woody Allen is now in Spain to ready the production of his Spanish movie with Scarlett.

Allen has already met with representatives of Mediapro, the production company which is financing the film, in their offices in the new Agbar tower, and members of his direction team have already spent several weeks in the city finding locations for the film.

The award-winning US director will be honored too tomorrow as doctor honoris causa by the Pompeu Fabra university in Barcelona.

The date comes at the request of Allen who says he will start shooting on the same day.

He is now up and about to organise the details of his latest ouvre which is to be filmed over the summer in the city and in Oviedo. Apart from Scarlett, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem are also in the movie.

According to some reports, Woody has refused to talk to the press upon arrival.

Because I am boring today and there are no news about Scarlett, another Scarlett quote for you to ponder. The US President is on his last leg of European tour due to G8 meeting that wasn’t successful at all. He was in Eastern Europe trying to make friends with the emerging countries in the continent concerning his plan to install missiles in Poland and Czech Republic.
Scarlett’s thoughts don’t have anything to do with missiles but with the Bush’s policy on abortion, which is his party’s stand. Scarlett, a New Yorker, believes that every woman has a right to get an abortion whenever she needs it.

“We’re supposed to be liberated in America but if our president had his way, we wouldn’t be educated about sex at all. Every woman would have six children and we wouldn’t be able to have abortions.”

Keira Knightley, the skinny British actress who posed together with Scarlett from the Vanity Fair 2006 cover, hasn’t forgotten their team-up and her impressions. She was interviewed by British Elle. Not only she talked about her thin body, but she also mentioned the actresses she admires and Scarlett’s physical appearance.

She was open about her admiration for Scarlett Johansson and her curves. “That kind of decadent flesh is absolutely beautiful. How sexy is that on a woman?”
Knightley was indeed candid about her hang time with Johansson. “We had such a laugh. Scarlett’s a sweetheart. I’m not completely comfortable with my body but I just thought, ‘F*** it’.”

For a very long time Keira has been the subject of anorexia rumours, she admits that she doesn’t go to gyms to beef up her body but eats everything she wants.
