Now that the shooting has begun we are slowly finding out who are the other actors involved in Woody Allen’s film project, working title “Midnight in Barcelona.”

How can I forget Patricia Clarkson, who has been seen with Scarlett on the shooting yesterday, a fine actress whose talents is so immense. Aside from Ms. Clarkson, Rebecca Hall, Kevin Dunn, Pablo Schreiber (Liev’s brother), Carrie Preston, Chris Messina and Abel Folk will keep Scarlett, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem’s company.

Anyway, I found the timetable (complete with the fan’s comments) of the shooting, courtesy of a curious cineaste. (I assumed the film enthusiast is a he.) In his diary, he found himself entranced with Scarlett and quite understood why Woody is so fascinated with the actress.

Then I saw Scarlett Johansson for the third time in my life. In less than a week. Her hair is blonde and quite impressive. What a feeling to see her so close going inside a black van. She looks so wonderful. I understand Woody Allen wants her to be her muse.

He also mentioned that Woody Allen is without a star attitude. The director didn’t mind fetching his own food from the catering vehicle.

No doubt the government of Barcelona is grateful of Woody Allen and Co.’s presence. How about the average citizens? Are they happy that Hollywood is raging their city, which now slowly loses its tradition of practicing siesta because of globalisation?

Like what we have gathered this week, Scarlett has flown to Spain to star in the new Woody Allen’s said to be “love letter” to the European country. If you were in Barcelona right now, you might have a chance to see the actress and the A-list director working on their new project.

Scarlett is Woody’s current flavour of the month. She was in his former films “Scoop” and “Matchpoint.” In the Spanish project, she plays as a tourist in Spain. Hence, images of her holding a camera. Would that be a real working (digital) camera????

According to the news, the shooting will take seven weeks. Aside from Barcelona, other locations will be a one-week stay in the northern Spanish region of Asturias and one day in New York.

Barcelona would be the second European city to feature in a full-length Allen movie.

TypicallySpanish.com reported that there is already a name for the director’s impending project. Dubbed “Midnight in Barcelona,” Woody would like to present the Spanish city in his eyes.

According to the site, he only spoke for five minutes in the gardens of a Barcelona hotel. It also said that the director attempted to learn Spanish but he learned nothing as he wasn’t paying attention at all. Therefore it will be a “grand challenge” for him to do the film in a country whose mother tongue isn’t English.

Filming will take seven weeks, in Barcelona, Oviedo and New York and the project has a budget of 12 million €.

Meanwhile Worth1000 via Cityrag presented a Photoshopped work featuring Scarlett with Elvis Presley under its rubric “Impossible Celebrity Couples.” Well, I am not sure if Elvis would have gone to film with the actress. Probably, he would. And the actress, she would perhaps be thrilled.

Aside from Elvis-Scarlett pairing, there’s also the young Bette Davis and George Clooney and Jude Law with Jean Simmons. Check it out.

Though Woody Allen is already in Spain, no news or whatseover when Scarlett will follow the director. It is not known if she is already recording her music album or busy with other projects.

According to France 24, Woody is up and ready to film his yet untitled work starring Scarlett in the Spanish city of Barcelona on July 9, production society Mediapro said Thursday.

Joining Johansson will be English actress Rebecca Hall as well as Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. Some scenes will be directed in the northern Spanish region of Asturias, where Allen spent Tuesday in the regional capital Oviedo seeking out sites to film in through to late August.

“The region of Asturias is magnificent. I always wanted to come to Spain to work and now I have the chance,” Spanish news media quoted Allen as saying.

The 71-year-old Academy Award-winning director is widely admired in Spain, and Oviedo itself boasts a lifesize bronze statue of him. Allen first visited the city to accept the Asturias prize for art in 2002.

The British teen magazine Bliss recently talked to Scarlett concerning L-O-V-E. Just like you and me she still dreams of being swept off her feet, that is, wishing to find true love and Mr. Right.

I find it somewhat ironic when she also confessed in the past that being monogamous is “challenging.”

“As an actress, it can be quite tough having a partner, because you’re always travelling from one city to another, which makes it hard to get to know someone and build a connection with them. But I’m not complaining. I get to meet lots of interesting guys and travel to so many great cities, which I love. One day, I’m going to surprise myself and fall completely head over heels for someone and be swept off my feet!”

It is recently revealed that former US Vice President Al Gore asked the support of Scarlett during the actress’ 10-day visit to the affected areas of 2004 Asian tsunami, sponsored by Oxfam this year. The politician turned environmental activist has been fervent on making the awareness as pop culture as possible.

In a move that might otherwise be interpreted as “creepy”, Al Gore urged Scarlett Johansson to get involved with the concert series while she was on a 10-day charity visit to Africa with Oxfam. According to reports, Gore left a voice mail detailing the campaign and inviting the actress to join in the fun this July and contact him. According to UK’s Times, our all-time favourite board game Monopoly will be a movie. That’s thanks to Sir Ridley Scott who would like to jump “on board to turn Monopoly–the world’s best-selling game–into an improbable feature-length movie.”

Remember the amazing sound and effects of “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down”? He might give something of that sheen to his intended movie version.

One of the actors who is considered to be in the movie is none other than Scarlett.

Scarlett Johansson, 22, who has already made several films in Britain, once joked that she explored London through the British version of Monopoly. She is said to find the prospect of a film version “funny, wacky, but interesting”.

Aside from Scarlett, the will be touted “racy comedy thriller” will include Kirsten Dunst. Hasbro, the maker of Monopoly, “wants the film to feature ’sexy young people’ in an attempt to win over teenagers who regard board games as a last resort on a wet afternoon.”

A Hasbro consultant said:

“Hasbro already has cool games like Ouija, which could be a supernatural movie, but we think of Monopoly with Ridley Scott as director or producer, as a massive global hit. Everyone has played Monopoly in one version or another so, hopefully, they would be curious about how it translates to the screen.”

Typically Spanish reported that Woody Allen is now in Spain to ready the production of his Spanish movie with Scarlett.

Allen has already met with representatives of Mediapro, the production company which is financing the film, in their offices in the new Agbar tower, and members of his direction team have already spent several weeks in the city finding locations for the film.

The award-winning US director will be honored too tomorrow as doctor honoris causa by the Pompeu Fabra university in Barcelona.

The date comes at the request of Allen who says he will start shooting on the same day.

He is now up and about to organise the details of his latest ouvre which is to be filmed over the summer in the city and in Oviedo. Apart from Scarlett, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem are also in the movie.

According to some reports, Woody has refused to talk to the press upon arrival.

Two new books about the actress will be available in the market. Honestly, I am not excited about celeb bios unless they are exclusively commissioned by the celebs themselves and not rehashed news and feature articles from the magazines. For one, they are only tinged with inaccuracies and speculations.

These are Scarlett Johansson by Brandon Hurst and Scarlett Johansson: Portrait of a Rising Star by Chris Roberts (Carlton Books). The unofficial biography book will be realeased on September 3, 2007. Where are the paparazzi when you need them?

Until now, there’s no photographic evidence of Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett together. And for a while now I have this strangest feeling the gossip rags are fooling the public’s head, concocting some tell-tale stories for the suckers out there. How ever you read the “news,” straight or oblique, there seems to be fire raging between the two lovers. Seems to be… Well then, think again.

The dating story is murky somehow.

According to the printed version of The National Enquirer June 4 issue, Ryan is reportedly leaving some of his stuff at Scarlett’s Hollywood condominium, culled via Celebitchy. For convenience’s sake, the actress allows the Canadian actor to leave some of his stuff at her place in case of emergency.

Oh no, trust me this didn’t come from the horse’s mouth but a certain group of people who purported to be the actress’ pals. So these “We-are-Scarlett’s pals” told the gossip rag that Scarlett okayed the move as Ryan spends most of his time at the actress’ condo anyway. I guess it would be easier for the two lovers to see and cuddle each other, right?

“Scarlett finally told Ryan to move some of his personal belongings into her condo. He pretty much stays over every night now anyway, so she wanted him to feel like it’s his place, too.”

Nothing came after the revelation but a review of the dating locations of the two actors. So enterprising photographers, move your butts and give us evidence!

She specifically mentioned Scarlett, who a month ago declared that she doesn’t have any qualms opting for surgery if she feels too old and wrinkly.

The ad campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Los Angeles in late March. Some shots will be published in the upcoming ish of Pop magazine.

Don’t ask me for style but according to press releases, the theme is movie star “evoking at turns Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly.”

Antoine Arnault said: “It’s a very iconic campaign.” Based on the sample photos, the colours are dark and earthy.

According to analysts, Louis Vuitton “spends more than $250 million annually on advertising, most of it print-driven.”

According to Tucson Scene, a site that brings the latest news in the local music scene, onlookers found the two “dancing at ’80s night in the dance club section of the hotel though nobody seemed to notice.” And then later they “took in some diner food at Grill on Congress St.”
