Ryan Reynolds may be handsome and hunky, but that did not stop the actor from getting nervous when he proposed to his wife, Scarlett Johansson. Apparently, ScarJo’s tongue-tying effect also affected him, so much so that he proposed via a text message.

It looks like he struggled with the words so much that he didn’t think that his speech would work for him if he did a personal face-to-face proposal, so he took the safer way out. Personally, I don’t think that this is a romantic proposal, but hey, it worked! They got hitched, didn’t they?

In one rare moment of divulgence, Ryan spoke about his proposal with ET’s Mary Hart, which he says is kind of a “blur.” Wow, the guy proposed to one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood, and it somehow seemed to be a blurry experience.

Anyway, Ryan had one very good advice when making a proposal, “Never ask a question unless you’re absolutely sure of the answer,” which he says is the concept behind his proposal to Scarlett. And apparently, he got this from trial lawyers. Go figure!

“It is the best evasive tactic I could come up with on short notice.” he joked, clarifying his statement.

But what was the thing that he struggled most in his proposal? “The hardest part was to compress all of that love, all of that joy into just one text message. And then it was just hitting send.” And after he hit that button, I’m willing to stake money that he spent a few nervous moments before she answered.

Well, lucky for him, Scarlett loved him so much and was willing to be his wife, even if the proposal is one of the most unromantic ones I’ve ever heard of. Not that I heard about a lot. But still, the proposal is not what matters: it’s their married life that should be one romantic, happy, and memorable experience. Go ScarJo and Ryan!

Scarlett Johansson has certainly dated a few of the most gorgeous bachelors in Hollywood. One of them is her Black Dahlia co-star, Josh Hartnett. The two started to date back in 2006 and continued for a year until the early part of 2007 (the same year when she and Justin Timberlake were also rumored to be dating, as a matter of fact, this rumor started after she and Josh broke up).

But while she and Justin never made it out of the “rumor” phase, she and Josh had the real thing. What did the then-23-year-old say about her boyfriend, Josh?

“Josh is very sweet,” she told Allure magazine in its November issue.

“He’s a good boy. A great person. I’m very lucky and I’m very happy,” she continued.

But a month later, on December 2006, work intervened and sent the two to opposite sides of the globe. Their lack of time and communication with each other became a barrier that both found hard to break. But they somehow glossed it over and continued their relationship until January of the following year, 2007.

The two broke up during late January, with both parties coming clean to the press. So what did Josh have to say about the “painful” break up?

“It was difficult spending so much time apart with all our different commitments and both of us flying all over the world,” he said, “At the end of the day we’re just ordinary people and it didn’t work.”

Oh well. As much as I think that Josh is one hot papa, I guess that Scarlett did not think that it was enough to fight for the relationship. But not to worry, ScarJo has another hot papa as her husband. I mean, Ryan Reynolds is quite a good catch, right?

Because of her sexy image and come-hither look, Hollywood actress, Scarlett Johansson has been painted as a promiscuous woman. Bit contrary to that belief, the 25-year old vixen has said that no, she is not promiscuous, but she’s not strictly a monogamist either.

On December of 2006, when Scarlett was still 23 years old, she told Allure magazine about her stand on relationships (remember, this was before He’s Just Not That Into You).

“Contrary to popular belief, I’m not promiscuous,” she said to Allure in December 2006. “There does seem to be a mistaken belief out there that I am sexually available somehow – which is not to say that I’m not open-minded about sex,” she said when asked about her real self against the one painted by the public.

“Yet,” she goes on to say, “I wouldn’t say I’m a serial monogamist, either. I mean, I went through periods of time when I was, ah, single. But when I’m in a relationship, I’m in a relationship.”

Then again, she reveals, “I do think on some basic level we are animals, and by instinct we kind of breed accordingly. But as much as I believe that, I work really hard when I’m in a relationship to make it work in a monogamous way.”

I think that it’s refreshing to know that even back then, at a young age, ScarJo has already a solid personality and a solid stand for what she believes is right. She stood up against the image that the media and other people had for her and tried to live up for what she said. So now, as a married woman at 25, I think that the Scarlett-Ryan relationship would last, if both parties somehow make an effort to stay together.

Remember when it was rumored that Justin Timberlake and Scarlett Johansson were dating? Well, let’s take a walk down memory lane and revisit those times in 2007 when Justin allegedly dropped his then-girlfriend, Cameron Diaz, and went off not to play online casino but to “flirt” with and “cozy up to” another blonde, Scarlett Johansson.

When Justin was looking for the femme fatale for his new $1 million video, “What Goes Around,” he zeroed in one actress: Scarlett Johansson. The 25-year old singer, who was then on the rocks with his girlfriend, Cameron Diaz (who is 9 years older than he is), made the younger actress (who is three years younger) agree readily, which was weird in a sense, because even then, ScarJo was already careful in her film choices.

But if one had a crush on the singer/ leading man, then I guess one would readily agree, right? This seemed to be the case because as one friend of Scarlett revealed, “Scarlett has always liked Justin. They’ve always had a flirtation – that’s why Cameron was threatened by her.”

The decision to cast her as the video vixen pushed the Justin-Cameron relationship to the breaking point.

Cameron reportedly dislikes the younger ScarJo because she starred in Lost In Translation, a film where Anna Faris plays a ditzy character that was reportedly based on Cam and because Scarlett subsequently dated her ex-boyfriend Jared Leto.

The young actress had recently split up with Josh Hartnett and was spotted with Justin at an after-party for his then-new film Alpha Dog. Sources in both stars’ inner circles confirm they are in the beginning stages of a relationship. A source adds, “He sees he has more in common with Scarlett and just thinks she’s really cool. They’re both just having fun.”

But she begged to differ when she addressed rumors about her relationship with Justin. “We have a lot of friends in common, and Justin’s a sweetheart, and it’s always good to see him,” ScarJo said, “but there’s a lot of speculation and I try not to read that stuff. I think when two people are single and are seen together, it’s immediately like a crazy feeding frenzy.”

Oh! So that’s it. They’re just friends. Justin-ScarJo never happened. Kapeesh?

Never try to call or text Scarlett Johansson if, 1) there is NO emergency, 2) someone has NOT died, or 3) you JUST missed her.

The Lost In Translation star revealed that she believes in certain “unwritten rules” when it comes to dating and love, specially in these technology-driven times.

“(So) If somebody’s calling me too much, it gives me, like, anxiety. ‘Like what’s wrong? What happened? Who died?’” she says. So I guess calling in to say “I Miss You” or “I Love You” when there is no absolute need to, is a no-no in her rulebook. Oh, well.

“If he really doesn’t call, I would say forget it,” Johansson said. “I think that that’s the unwritten rule, is that the guy should call the girl,” CBS quoted her as telling the Early Show, when speaking of her latest movie, He’s Just Not That Into You.

She also adds another no-no in her rulebook: obsession over every text or message ever sent.

“I don’t like neediness in any way. Men or women. It’s nice to feel wanted and romanced and all that, but I need to have my time to do things with my friends and my family,” she point out bluntly.

Soon, Johansson and Ryan Reynolds arrived, taking a seat at Timberlake’s table, where Johansson enjoyed a backrub from her affectionate husband. Timberlake, meanwhile, put on a show for Biel: He danced with a some plastic light-up ice cubes, treating them like glow sticks much to Biel’s amusement.

Scarlett Johansson is in love, and it shows. Nowadays, she just looks so radiant and so obviously smitten by her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

However, she isn’t sure if the romance will or will not fade in time.

Remember her interview with Movies Online? When asked what she thought about marriage now that she’s a married woman herself, ScarJo replies with a simple, “I have no perspective on that - you should ask me in 25 years.”

Okay. Safe answer. So we all have to wait until she turns 50 just to know. But in fairness to the He’s Just Not That Into You co-star, at the meantime, it doesn’t look like the love will fade any time soon,

“I am really in love with love. I’m a lover not a fighter. I’m a real lover,” the recently turned Mrs. Reynolds revealed.

She added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper that, “My friends and I talk about relationships and I probably over-analyse everything. But I usually come back to the same thing, ‘If this person is making you crazy or doubt yourself, then get rid of him.’”

“I always sort of come back to that. Whether or not my girlfriends stay with the guy at the time, they usually end up parting ways in the end,” she adds. “It sounds like I’m breaking people up all over the place, doesn’t it?”

Yeah, it does a little. But it’s good to know that Scar Jo cares enough for her friends to advice them and listen to their dating dilemmas and what-not. The 24-year-old actress revealed that she regularly encourages her friends to end their relationships when they turn to her for advice.

While Scarlett Johansson is busy promoting her movie, He’s Just Not That Into You, her other half, hunky actor, Ryan Reynolds is also keeping busy for his role in the upcoming action flick, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

ScarJo’s hubby was seen hitting the gym in Vancouver, Canada on his day off for re-shooting scenes for Wolverine. While some fans think that the re-shooting is a cause for alarm, Fox has explained that they wanted to have more of Ryan’s character, Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, included in the movie. Originally, Deadpool only played a cameo role, but the movie’s production people saw the potential of the character and decided to let him have more movie time.

Aside from Ryan Reynolds, the movie also stars Live Schreiber as Victor Creed, a.k.a. Sabretooth, Taylor Kitsch as Remy LeBeau a.k.a. Gambit, Lynn Collins as Silver Fox, and of course, Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman.

Remember in X2, when Wolverine’s past was revealed? Well, the supersoldier program, Weapon X, had bonded the nearly indestructible metal alloy, adamantium to his skeleton and claws.

Now enter Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, “a high-tech mercenary known for wisecracks, black comedy, and satirical pop-culture references”. Deadpool entered the Weapon X program in hopes of finding a cure for his terminal cancer. And find it he does, thanks to the regenerative healing powers extracted from Wolverine’s body. However, he got more that he bargained for when Weapon X leaves him disfigured and mentally unstable.

It’s been rumored that Fox liked Deadpool so much that they’re thinking of producing a solo film for him. And that would mean a huge break for Ryan!

The film is slated to come out in May 1.

Alright, now I know that Scarlett’s marriage happened September of last year, but I want to recall those days when the media was in a frenzy to find out what happened because our tight-lipped actress wasn’t speaking up.

The couple started dating during February of last year, and announced their engagement on May 2008. But they didn’t tell anyone about their wedding plans, so imagine everyone’s surprise when they finally announced that they were already married.

Scarlett wanted a ceremony with just family and a few select friends. She wasn’t going to let anything (read, the paparazzi) interfere with her wedding day.

“They worked hard to keep things private,” a source close to the 24-year old actress told People.

According to People, Scarlett and Ryan avoided the all-seeing eyes of the paparazzi by sending text message invitations to 40 guests and then staging the ceremony at the “rugged, but luxurious” Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, which is on a nature reserve in British Columbia, Canada on Saturday, September 27. Guests reached the venue by sea plane or a 30-minute boat ride.

When asked about why she was so silent about her wedding, ScarJo told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “It was my mission to have a moment of privacy, to do something for myself. I was happy with the results of that.”

Scarlett didn’t even disclose the designer of her wedding dress.
Guests included her mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson, according to People magazine, which cited her spokeswoman. The spokeswoman declined further comment beyond a confirmation of the marriage.

Ryan’s representative Maureen O’Sullivan, also confirmed that the marriage took place, but said no further details would be provided.

Ryan was previously dating fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette, while Johansson was linked to Josh Hartnett and Jared Leto. It’s a first marriage for both of them.
